Katrina's message could be found in the Book of Revelation

Echoes of Katrina

Luke 21:28 - "And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads for your redemption draweth nigh."

Christ gave to the disciples a description of the signs that will come to pass as an indication of the nearness of the end of the world and of His return to rescue His people: "upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring." Luke 21:25. The disciples recorded those predictions for us in Matthew 24, Luke 21, and Mark 13.

Lately, there has been a series of events that are raising the questioning of men and women. Are we really coming close to the apocalyptic scenes of the end?

On September 11, 2001, the twin towers in New York city came tumbling down amid fire and smoke.

On the morning of December 26, 2004, a huge undersea earthquake in the Indian Ocean sent monster waves of a tsunami crashing onshore from Indonesia to India to Africa. Entire villages were washed away taking the lives of more than 200,000 persons.

On August 29, 2005, hurricane Katrina, with winds of 150 mph, advanced over New Orleans, the cities around, and surrounded areas demolishing trees and buildings, and flooding in the houses up to the roof, in the low lands of the city. After that came hurricane Wilma hitting hard Cancun, Havana and Miami.

Then, October 8, 2005, a 7.6 magnitude earthquake in Pakistan killed more than 86,000 people.

On February 2, 2007, early before morning, a stormy super cell sent violent twisting tornados down upon central Florida, demolishing buildings and trees on a most destructive pattern. It only took 20 lives, but it deserves to be mentioned in consideration of the persistence of the works of destruction.

On August 15, 2007, 90 miles south of Lima, Peru, a magnitude 8 earthquake injured at least 1500 people and killed more than 500, while shaking down the houses in the area.

On October 20, 2007, fast fires started burning bushes and homes in California, near San Diego, sending thousands of residents to shelters on secured areas. In five days, the flames consumed more than 1800 homes with an estimated damage of one billion dollars.

On the night from February 5 to the morning of Wednesday 6 of 2008, more than forty deadly tornadoes descended furiously mainly upon Mississippi, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky and Alabama. At least 54 people lost their lives when the twisters grinded down hundreds of homes.

A big one. On Friday, May 2 and 3, 2008, Saturday, Cyclone Nargis, with winds of 150 mph brought a huge disaster over Yangon and the villages of the low lands of Myanmar. They have counted more than 78,000 death, and around one million people left homeless mostly by the force of a 12 foot storm surge that destroyed everything. Some observers estimate the death toll could climb to around 130,000 when they could go to every place.

On the afternoon, May 12, 2008 a massive earthquake, magnitude 7.9, shook Sichuan, Central China leveling 4.7 million houses. The death toll is passing the 68,000 as they continue removing the broken building material.

On August and September, 2008, storm Fay and hurricanes Gustav and Hanna came along causing severe damages on their pathway. But most severe was hurricane Ike who devastated several Caribbean islands, traversed Cuba, and on September 13 with 110 mph winds and high surge blasted Galveston and inland areas in Texas.

Just for the record, on September 29, 2008, a man made storm descended over the financial world when the Dow Jones Stock Market plunged 777 points that day after the bailout and merging of banks and lending institutions. By March 3, 2009, the meltdown has plunged the Dow to 6726.

On February 7-17, 2009, violent fires around Victoria state, Australia took the lives of more than 200 people and burned more than 1800 homes.

On March 2, 2009, a monster snow storm came down on the Eastern coast. The snow boxed 30 miles of a highway in South Carolina with cars and trucks stuck for a whole night in a dangerous freezing weather.

On January 12, 2010, a magnitude 7 earthquake demolished capital city Port-au-Prince, Haiti, killing around 230,000 people and leaving one million homeless.

On March 11, 2011, a magnitude 9 earthquake struck Japan sending inland a 30 foot tsunami which killed most of the 10,000 people found dead.

On April 27, 2011, deadly tornadoes were devastating towns and cities on their path across the South. Texas, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia and Missouri had their share of the 270 people who lost their lives under the fury of the storm. Deadly and horrific was de one sweeping through Joplin, Missouri on May 22, Sunday evening taking the lives of more than 116 people.

On October 22, 2012, deadliest and most destructive Hurricane Sandy battered the North Atlantic coast counting 285 fatalities.

On Monday, May 20, 2013, past 3:30 pm, a monster tornado with winds of more than 200 mph shattered buildings and schools in Moore, south Oklahoma City, leaving at least 24 dead.

After these, the list is too large, it belongs to the last days...

Are these events heralding a wake up call to prepare the people for the end? What we must do?

With these kind of events we cannot ignore the Bible. Let's try to understand the warning from God. There are four angels appointed by God to hold down the winds of strife and destruction until the sealing of God's servants is done. "And ... I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree. And ... another angel ... cried with a loud voice ... saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads." Rev. 7:1-3.

Do you see the picture? By the mercy of God the angels are holding the winds of strife and destruction. If it were not for these four angels appointed to hold down the forces of destruction, different and numerous scenes of destruction can be hitting the earth every day. Once on a while, the overwhelming forces of evil brake up on the protecting lines, as they are allowed by the abundance of iniquity in the area. The devils dance when the lives of thousands of souls are cut off by these disasters. By all means, the prince of this world will try to take the lives of those who could hear the gospel of salvation and life, could repent of their sins, and could come to be saved by the Lord Jesus Christ. God wants to save man and give him eternal life. He says: "Come near, ye nations, to hear; and hearken, ye people: let the earth hear, and all that is therein, the world, and all things that come forth of it." Isaiah 34:1.

To counteract Satan's work of destruction, God is enabling His servants on earth with the power of the Holy Spirit to preach, with a loud voice, the everlasting gospel, the hour of judgment in heaven, and the manifestation of God's love as embodied in the will of God, the Ten Commandments. Rev. 14:6-12. The servants of the Lord, in the last hour of earth history, "have the patience of the saints: keep the commandments of God and have the faith of Jesus." Rev. 14:12. They are in tune with Jesus advice: "If ye love me, keep my commandments." John 14:15.

Yes, they "have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb." Rev. 7:14. They have confessed to the Lord and repented of their iniquities and their rebellions. With the Lord pardon and power to overcome self, they stand now with the seal of the living God on the forehead as citizens of the kingdom of God.

This great company of believers, be it a real number, or a symbolical reference of 144,000, proclaim to the world, with their lives and their voices, a powerful testimony of the character of God and of the truth in the Bible. Notice that only the truth from the Word of God comes out from their mouth, "And in their mouth was found no guile; for they are without fault before the throne of God." Rev. 14:5. Because they walk with God doing the will of the Lord, they are the first ones to be sealed: "being the first fruits unto God and to the Lamb." Rev. 14:4. The Holy Spirit descends mightily upon them to spread the warning of doom to those still worshiping Babylon, and to imprint the touch of heaven on the loud proclamation to the last call of mercy and salvation. Rev. 18:1-4; Rev. 14:7-12.

Those who hear and heed the message come out to join the harvest of the Lord. "After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues." Rev. 7:9. "Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God." Rev. 19:1.

By their choices, all kind of people remain captive to the powers of Babylon, but those who choose to serve the Lord, and accept His saving grace, have their names clear and clean in the Book of Life; and are sealed for salvation through the time of the great tribulation and to join the Lord at His Coming. The loud cry and the sealing end at the moment every one has chosen his way; Christ stands up from the Judgment, and probation is close for the human race. At this time the four angels that were holding the winds, let the winds go to do their job. Rev. 7:1-3. During the seven last plagues, Almighty God protect all His sealed servants on earth, until Jesus breaks in the clouds of heaven. Once in heaven with the Lord, they "stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands." Rev. 7:9.

A word for the last days ...

As yet the four winds are held until the servants of God shall be sealed in their foreheads. Then the powers of earth will marshal their forces for the last great battle. Maranatha, p. 63.

A word for the last days ,,,
Transgression has almost reached its limit. Confusion fills the world, and a great terror is soon to come upon human beings. The end is very near. We who know the truth should be preparing for what is soon to break upon the world as an overwhelming surprise ... Maranatha, p. 138.
