Where will you be?

One Thousand Years
Just Ahead!

Revelation 20:2 - "... and bound him a thousand years."

20:3 - " ... till the thousand years be fulfilled."

20:4 - "...and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years,"

20:5 - "...but the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished."

20:6 - "... they shall be priest of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years."

20:7 - "... when the thousand years are expired..."

Many different schools of thoughts and teachings about the millennium are held among the Christians. Some views may drive the believer out of the Christian fold and cost him his life with Christ. Here, this paragraphs will look only to the verses on the Holy Scriptures. The One Thousand Years will keep God's children alive and reigning with Him while keeping the children of darkness dead on the ground. It is very important to know God's plan.

The millennium begins with the Second Coming of Christ on the sky around the earth. "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord." (1 Thessa. 4:16, 17)

"In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound , and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality." (1 Corinthians 15:52, 53)

"And he shall shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other." (Matthew 24:31)

On earth, just before the Second Coming of Christ, there are only two kinds of people: the saved and the lost; or in another words, the just and the unjust, or the righteous and the wicked. How do they come out on one side or the other? By their own choice.

If you are counting on living forever,or living after death, consider first the standard of the judgment and the stages of it in relation to the millennium.

The Standard of the Judgment is God's Law-The Ten Commandments. (Exo. 20:2-17)

"For sin is the transgression of the law." (1 John 3:4)

"For the wages of sin is death." (Romans 6:23)

Only one way out to salvation - The Savior Jesus Christ.

"And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. And he is the propitiation for our sins." (1 John 2:1, 2) "He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall find mercy." (Proverbs 28:13)

A contrite heart with repentance and confession shall find mercy if going to Christ before the door of salvation is closed forever:

The door will close before the Second Coming of Christ.

The door will close before the seven last plagues, Rev. 16.

The door will close when Christ writes down last name on the Book of Life.

The door of the Heavenly Sanctuary will close when Christ the Mediator stands up and pronounces the closing verdict: "He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still." (Rev. 22:11) You will know the door of mercy is closed when the first plague falls upon the unrepentant sinners on earth.

God is calling all people to love and to worship the Lord with all their heart, mind and soul; but some people prefer to worship 'spiritual wickedness in high places' and to worship also the powers that be on earth requiring allegiance and worship. (See the claims of the beast power and of the image of the beast on Rev. 13)

When the Grand Judgment in heaven decides the case of each person, the rebellious one, who never repented of his wicked ways, is not allowed to enter the Kingdom of God. God has promised that in the New Earth, Sin will be no more. On coming, Christ said: "and my reward is with me." (Rev. 22:12)

The reward of the faithful believers is that their names are written in the Lamb's Book of Life; if in the grave, they will hear the trumpet and the voice of Christ calling them to life again; and if they are alive they will see the gathering angels helping each one to ascend to the Lord, also with a new glorious body. "This is the first resurrection." (Rev. 20:5)

The one whose name is not in the Book of Life, covered with the sins of this life, cannot withstand the brightness of the Second Coming of Christ and fall lifeless to the ground, where after the birds eat his flesh will remain for a thousand years. (Rev. 19:17-21)

Jesus told his disciples: "In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also." (John 14:2, 3)

And now in the air, Christ is surrounded by an inmense dense cloud of living beings: all the children of God. Down there, the earth is totally desolated, no human being is alive; only Satan and his angels: "And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years. And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season." (Rev. 20:1-3)

Satan is bound by the circumstances: no human being is alive on earth for the whole millennium, no one to tempt. A long time to think on the results of his rebellion against the goverment of God on a dark and cold planet: "I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light..." (Jeremiah 4:23-25)

Christ the Lord as pilot and commander of the most grandiose spacial flight ever, flying through the galaxies of God's Universe, and at the speed not ever conceived by any earthly scientific mind, reaches the city and the throne of God with the liberated human race for which He had given his life and blood.

There in heaven: "And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years." (Rev.20:4) In this verse Prophecy is opening a window of trouble for the faithful Christians living between the now of the last days and the Second Coming.

While all the wicked are dead, sleeping unconscious on earth, the entire host of the redeemed is engaged with Christ on the Consultive Judgment, the second stage of God's Judgment. None of the wicked will be saved on this Judgment. The books and records in heaven will show every case where sins were not repented off nor confessed for pardon and mercy. The records are open for all to see the sins unconfessed, unrepented, and unpardoned for which that person didn't care to come to the Savior for a new life in Christ. None of them were born again in Christ to obtain heavenly citizenship. Every one there will see why a friend or family was not saved, and will see and accept the justice of God. No more doubts, ever. "He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life." (1 John 5:12)

Remember that the first stage of God's Judgment was the Investigative Judgment, before the Second Coming of Christ as described in Daniel 7:10, 13; and it is still preached around the world by the first angel message of Revelation 14:7. The names written in the Book of Life are the names of those that will go with Christ to the heavenly mansions, and to whom, by the grace of God, life eternal will be granted at the Second Coming. That is the whole harvest of the children of God from planet earth.

"Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years." (Rev. 20:6)

When the thousand years are ending, Christ is preparing to return to earth with the redeemed and the New Jerusalem as the capital of the Universe to execute Judgment on the wicked and to establish the Kingdom of God on the Earth Made New.

From the air Christ calls back to life all the wicked of the earth, even from Cain, to hear the verdict of their case: death, eternal death. "For the wages of sin is death." (Romans 6:23) "And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison." (Rev. 20:7) Now Satan has billions and billions of people to deceive once more, for the last time. "And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea." (Rev. 20:8)

On descending, Christ touches ground with his feet: "And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south." (Zechariah 14:4) This is the valley, the plain Christ will prepare to receive the New Jerusalem. "And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband." (Rev. 21:2)

Satan knows that the tree of life is inside, in the middle of the New Jerusalem; if they can have access to it, they can live forever. The armies of the wicked spread out on the surface of the earth are far greater than the children of God inside the city, and they make plans to take it by assault. "And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city." (Rev. 20:9)

But something stops the march of the wicked; they see above the New Jerusalem a great white throne with the Judge sitting on it: "And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it..." (Rev. 20:11) He is the One they crucified on Calvary's hill; He is the One they have been rejecting all along from their hearts and minds!

While they are standing before the Judge of the Earth the time has come for the execution of the third stage of God's Judgment, when the records of everyone's life are opened and everyone's memory flashes back to their resolute rejection to the calling of the Holy Spirit to accept Jesus as their personal Savior.

"And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judge out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works." (Rev. 20:12)

To their minds comes back the life of Christ, his sacrifice and death on the cross as the only mean to save man. When they see Christ resurrection and Christ interceding ministry of love on behalf of their brothers already saved inside the city, everybody see the justice of God and fall on their knees and worship the Lord. "For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God." (Romans 14:10, 11) All the hordes of the wicked, and the devils on their knees confessing to God: "Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of the saints." (Rev. 15:3)

In vain Satan tries to propel his armies to assault the holy city: "fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them." (Rev. 20:9) "And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire." (Rev. 20:14, 15) When every thing is burnt up and the fire is out; "And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the Lord of hosts." (Malachi 4:3)

The redeemed now will have the glorious privilege of seeing with their own eyes the mighty creative power of the Lord bringing back to life planet earth with new vegetation, new animals, and new things that "Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard..." (1 Cor. 2:9; Rev. 21, 22)

"And has made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth." (Rev. 5:10)
