One Hope

The Promises of Jesus

Matthew 11:28 - "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."

There is One God, but three persons in the Godhead: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Referring to themselves God said: "Let us make man in our image." (Gen. 1:26) "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one." (1 John 5:7) One God in character, purpose and power. (Matthew 28:19; John 15:26)

From eternity, God the Son has been creating the worlds of the Universe. Later on, the Godhead proposed to create the human race and came here to prepare the earth as a home for human beings. And here on earth, a great controversy continued when Lucifer, a created being, took captives under his dominion our first parents and challenged the very character of God to keep his dominion on earth.

The Godhead revealed to the impotent human victims the heavenly plan to rescue those departing from rebellion and disobedience, and who will be coming back to their Maker and Savior by their own free will. A timing clock will be running to overthrow the devil and his dominion. The first six days of creation will look to the first six thousand years since creation. We are about to end that period of time. The misery, the slavery of all of us under Satan's dominion will end at the conclusion of the six thousand years with the Second Coming of Christ on the sky around the earth. Revive your hope and be valiant amidst all evil! The seventh day of rest at creation, the Sabbath, will look to the seventh millennium, where all the redeemed will be in heaven with Christ. "But beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day." (2 Peter 3:8)

Look to Jesus-God the Son, who stepped forward, down here, to accomplish the redemption of planet earth and of the human race with His own blood and life. And the Promises of Jesus, sweet as manna from heaven, began to bring hope and a living faith into His followers who will live for Him under the grace of His righteousness:

"And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shall bruise his heel." (Gen. 3:15) The whole plan of redemption revealed on these few words. Christ in human flesh will overcome sin and the devil, and as the Lamb of God will pay the penalty of death. Himself being the Source of Life, He shall overcome death and extend the gift of life to whoever comes to Him. With Christ victory the head and the branches of iniquity will be destroyed forever.

"Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee." (Gen. 17:5) "And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice." (Gen. 22:18) "And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise." (Galatians 3:29)

"Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel." (Isaiah 7:14)

"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulders: and his name shall shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The Mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." (Isaiah 9:6)

"And they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us." (Matthew 1:23) "And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shall call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins." (Matthew 1:21)

"He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give into him the throne of his father David: and he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end." (Luke 1:32, 33)

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." (John 1:1) "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth." (John 1:14)

Jesus said:

"I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger..." (John 6:35)

"I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep." (John 10:11)

"I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved." (John 10:9)

"I am the light of the world." (John 9:5)

"I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." (John 14:6)

"I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live." (John 11:25)

"I am the vine, ye are the branches." (John 15:5) For You and Me, this means total dependence on Him for everything. "and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out." (John 6:37)

"Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father'svuelohouse are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also." (John 14:1-3)

"All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world." (Matthew 28:18-20)

"But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us." (Hebrews (9:11, 12)

"And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous." (1 John 2:1)

All the wonderful promises of Jesus won't do anything for you and for me if we keep with ourselves the sins and transgressions to the Ten Commandments. (Exodus 20:2-17) To remove the penalty from us we have to send those sins to Jesus, the High Priest, with confession and repentance. Only the blood of Christ, shed at Calvary, once and for all, applied by His grace to each penitent sinner, has power to forgive sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)

"And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood." (Revelation 1:5)

"Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me." (Rev. 3:20)

"To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God." (Rev. 2:7)

"He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death." (Rev. 2:11)

"He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels." (Rev. 3:5)

Who in the Universe, outside Jesus, can honor these promises? None other, only Jesus. Jesus is divine: the Son of God; Jesus is human: the Son of man. Jesus, the only person with the qualifications to mediate the covenant of redemption between a Holy God and sinful man: He is the Creator, the Source of Life, the Redeemer, the Lamb of God, the High Priest, the Mediator, the Advocate, and King of Kings. As soon as the Judgment ends in heaven Christ will change His robes of High Priest for those of King of Kings to appear in the firmament above as a Mighty Conqueror to rescue God's children from earth.

At the cross, Christ paid the penalty of death for all human beings, making salvation available to all people; but because of free choice, whoever enlist himself at the service of the devil and of the agencies of the adversary, and remains there until the close of probation, he disqualifies himself for salvation. In the Judgment, the names of those without Christ defense are blotted out from the Book of Life. God has promised a new earth where sin will be no more; and the remedy is in the word of Jesus: "Except a man be born again (be born of water and of the Spirit) he cannot see the kingdom of God." (John 3:3, 5) Neither I, nor you as a sinner would ever enter heaven without Christ propitiation. This is the time to come to Him with all our needs, waiting and looking to the Heavenly Sanctuary for His saving grace. At the Second Coming, the Saved are taken to Christ; the Wicked are left lifeless on earth.

A challenging time is coming upon the world; Revelation 13 portrays a bitter opposition from the beast power and from the image of the beast, raising their hands to oppress Bible believers all around the globe. Then the promises of Jesus will be the comfort and beacon of faith for every believer. Keep in mind: "To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am sat down with my Father in his throne." (Rev. 3:21)
