A Vision Of History

The Prophetic Radar of God

Isaiah 46:9, 10. - "...For I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me. Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done..."

The earth was created to be inhabited, to be the home of the human race. "For thus saith the Lord that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the Lord; and there is none else." Isaiah 45:18.

The purpose of the Creator for man and for the earth came under the attack of a determined adversary. The rebellious challenge of Lucifer, from the time he was in heaven until now, has brought delay, and transformation to God's plan, and unlimited suffering to much people as confirmed on the pages of history. When Lucifer was found propagating lies and the politics of rebellion among the angels, he was cast out from heaven. "And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceived the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him." Rev. 12:9. Here, Lucifer was able to deceive Eve, and to take Adam and the dominion that God had given him on the earth. Gen. 3.

The plan of God to recover man and the planet must be known to man, to bring hope and faith in God into his fallen spirit. Certain stages or signposts must be revealed to indicate the passing of the milestones as the journey through time advanced toward the end and the restoration of God's Kingdom on earth. Where are we now?

One revealing radar was mounted in the lands of Mesopotamia. Daniel was chosen to be the signal revelator. On the visionary screen appeared a great image whose parts represented different stages or kingdoms which will be advancing the scale of time toward the very end. See it in chapter 2 of Daniel. The first stage began when Daniel told Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon: "Thou art this head of gold." Dan. 2:38.

The same sequence of kingdoms was revealed, with different symbols in subsequent visions that Daniel received in chapters 7, 8 and 9 to reafirm and to amplify important phases of certain stages. They are combined here, in the following lines, for easy understanding:

1. Head of gold.  Dan. 2:32. Babylon  605-539 BC.
Lion, w. eagle’s wings. Dan. 7:4 wings=fast conquest of Babylon.

2. Breast and arms of silver. Dan. 2:32  Medo-Persia    539-331 BC.
Bear, w. 3 ribs in mouth. Dan.7:5    conquered  Lydia, Babylonia, Egypt.
Ram, w. one horn higher. Dan. 8:3, 4. Persia more powerful.

On 457 BC. King Artaxerxes I, gave beginning to the 483 years to the Messiah Prince, to the 490 years allotted to the Jews, and to the 2300 years for the Judgment to begin. Dan. 8:14; 9:24-27.

3. Belly and thighs of brass. Dan. 2:32 Grecia  331-168 BC.
Leopard, w. 4 wings,       Dan.7:6 Alexander the Great speedily conquered Medo-Persia
                    and 4 heads
Goat, w. great horn, broken. Dan. 8:5-8  Alexander died.
Four horns replaced the broken one Four generals took the empire.

4. Legs of iron. Dan. 2:33 Rome 168 BC-476 AD.
Dreadful beast, 10 horns  Dan. 7:7. On falling, Rome divided into 10 kingdoms

On 27 AD, the 483 years to the anointing of the Messiah were fulfilled when Christ was baptized in the Jordan river. In the middle of the week, 31 AD, the Messiah was cut off on Calvary hill. On 34 AD, the 490 years ended when the one week (7 years) allotted to confirm the covenant with the house of Israel, telling them that Jesus was the Messiah, ended too, and that message went forth to all people. Dan. 9:24-27.

5. Feet of iron mixed with clay. Dan. 2:33. 10 kingdoms after Rome, 476 AD-Today

Justinian granted political power to Papacy in 538 AD.
Napoleon took it away in 1798, exactly after 1260 years.

For the second observatory platform we come to the island of Patmos on the Aegean Sea around 96 AD where the Apostle John was vanished by Emperor Domitian to stop his Christian preaching. But, in that place God gave John the visions of Revelation to enlarge the picture of the time of the end: with the purpose that men living in the last centuries could know when the edge of time was about to roll away. John was living under the time of Imperial Rome, as the above description of stage 4. The sea that he saw represents "people, multitudes, and nations, and tongues." Rev. 17:15.

Stage 5. A beast like a leopard with seven heads and ten horns, coming out of the sea. Rev. 13:1, 2.

The description given here matches that of the little horn in Daniel 7, Papal Rome.

--And power was given unto him to continue forty two months. Rev. 13:5.

Forty two months are equal to 1260 days or years; equal to time, times, and ½ of a time. From 538 to 1798 AD.

--The dragon gave him his power, his seat, and great authority. Rev. 13:2.

The dragon, the Roman Empire, gave to the Papacy the authority and the seat of political power: Rome.

--And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death. Rev. 13:3.

Ordered by Napoleon, General Berthier came to Rome in 1798 and took Pope Pius VI prisoner, ending the political supremacy of the Papacy, at the 1260 years foretold by the prophecy.

--And his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. Rev. 13:3.

On Feb. 11, 1929, Mussolini and Cardenal Gaspari signed a concordat restoring the lands and the power to the Papacy, so the pope could be again a king among the sovereigns on earth. Today, almost every nation has an embassy with the Vatican, and the Pope is well received everywhere, aspiring to regain the lost supremacy.

A second beast, or power, appeared before John, coming not out of the sea, but out of the earth, (from a place scarcely populated)

--And I beheld another beast coming out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb... Rev. 13:11.

At the time the first power represented by the Papacy was coming down in 1798, another beast as a bison or buffalo with horns as a lamb was coming into the scene of power among the nations. None other fits the description as the United States of America.

A gentle democratic nation, with two horns as a lamb, where the civil power is separated from the religious power. God inspired her founders to frame a constitution with the divine principles of liberty and equality for all. From those principles spring forth prosperity, peace, and the freedom to pursue the dreams of happiness.

For more than 200 years America has been a blessing from God to the people. From America, the gospel of Christ the Savior, together with the resources, plus the spirit of freedom has gone to all the world.

Only one unpleasant thing to come out in the future, this power with two horns like a lamb is projecting a change of character "and he spake as a dragon." Rev. 13:11. When that happens, all the predictions in Rev. 13:12-17 will come to pass before the eyes of the people living at the very end of time.

--"Fear God and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come." Rev. 14:7.

The same prophecy that was pointing to the Messiah Prince on 27 AD was pointing to 1844 AD as the beginning of the hour of judgment. "Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed." Dan. 8:14. From the 2300 years, the first 490 years were dedicated to the Jews in particular, and the rest of the years were to extend through history, calling people from every nation unto God, until the assembling of the Judgment in heaven.

In heaven the Ancient of Days did sit, and one like the Son of man came before him, surrounded by the angels "thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened." Dan. 7:9, 10, 13. On earth was a great religious awakening motivated by the preaching of the prophecies of the Bible. Men began to open their ears when they heard that "the hour of his judgment is come." And today, millions are moving by faith into the kingdom of God, under His merciful grace.

Why the judgment is necessary? Millions of angels are there as witnesses of all that have happened since Lucifer arose in rebellion against the government of God, and saw him taking away the human race and intruding in the affairs of planet Earth. Some men have chosen to follow the Lord, living in obedience to God's commandments, but some others have chosen to ally themselves with the devil and are taking part in an active war and rebellion against God and His commandments of love. The angels and the unfallen beings of God's universe, who are watching the process, can not read the heart as God does; they want the assurance that by admitting millions of redeemed sinners into heaven, they are not admitting sin and rebellion back again. For them, the books are opened to find out if the sins of every person have been confessed and pardoned by the Savior.

Who is the Judge? Even when the Ancient of days presides on the Judgment, Dan. 7:9, 10, Jesus said: "The Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son." John 5:22. Christ is "ordained of God to be Judge of quick and dead." Acts 10:42. Jesus, the One that was walking with us on earth, the One acquainted with our sorrows and tears, is the Judge. The standard for the Judgment is the Law of God, the Ten Commandments. All of us have broken the Law and are under condemnation: we need a Savior. In the Heavenly Sanctuary, Christ is the High Priest that applies the merits of the blood of the Lamb of God shed on Calvary, for the forgiveness of our confessed sins. And in the Judgment Court, Christ is the Advocate and Lawyer who takes our place if we belong to Him in love and obedience.

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrigheousness." 1 John 1:9.

"For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you." Matt. 6:14.

"I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." John 14:6.

When we choose to confess, to obey, and to surrender all to Him, Christ who knows the heart of everyone, knows also that that loving child will never be a rebel in heaven. Christ knows the heart where the seed of love has been sown for eternity. Praise the Lord for the verdict of grace, mercy and love: when all sins are blotted out, and the name of that saint is retained in the Book of Life for the day of Christ coming to rescue God's children. It is a tragedy when someone is found without Christ and his name is erased from the Book of Life. It is a tragedy when salvation to life eternal is a free gift to everyone; and they discarded it for blindness of mind.

The Judgment in heaven is the last stage in history that gives way to the Second Coming of Christ. At the conclusion of the Judgment, Christ receives the dominion, and the kingdom. And takes His robes of King of Kings to appear as the Mighty Conqueror in the eastern sky.
