After the sadness of Adam’s fall, God brought to their hearts new hope with the

Plan of Redemption

Gen. 3:15 - "And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shall bruise his heel."

In these words spoken by God after the fall of our first parents, we find enclosed the promise of redemption, the story of the plan of salvation, the great controversy played out on planet earth for six thousand years; and then will begin the millennium, another one thousand years after the Second Coming of Christ, where the saved will be in the mansions in heaven with Christ, the earth depopulated, and the lost sleeping dead on the dust of the ground. Great climactic events are marking the beginning and the end of the millennium.

  • Enmity -- stages of the controversy from beginning to end.
  • Thee -- the serpent; Satan.
  • Thy seed -- followers of Satan’s doctrines and principles.
  • The woman -- Eve; God’s people; the church.
  • Her seed -- Christ; God’s children.
  • It -- Christ.
  • Bruise thy head -- destroy Satan and his kingdom.
  • Thou -- Satan.
  • Bruise his heel -- crucify Jesus, but He rose to life again.

God is not taken by surprise. Plans were made to create the human race; to create man with free reasoning powers, in the image of God, with the power of choice, like God. It was a great risk to create human beings, and give them freedom to love and obey, and freedom to distrust and disobey. Without that essential freedom there is no love. If man will disobey God, and choose to follow another God, like Lucifer the rebel; then, the Creator will implement the plan of salvation, where the Creator himself will become a man , yes, with the same human flesh, to overcome the devil with love and obedience to God. Christ, in human flesh, at Calvary, gave his life to redeem the lost race. “But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you.” (1 Peter 1:19,20)

Jesus example is open to all human beings who want to reproduce in themselves the image of God as demonstrated by the Son of man; “to love God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind ... and thy neighbor as thyself.” (Matt. 22:37-39)

By the grace of God, every born again child of God can develop the love of God, as the fruit of the Spirit, in his own character. The fruit of the Spirit is one fruit with several integral traits: "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law." (Galatians 5:22-23) Those are blessed, their names are written in the Book of Life. Whoever decides to adopt the works of the flesh, (Galatians 5:19-21) and selfishness, and rebellion , like Lucifer, will end with him for total destruction. This is freedom of choice at work.
